Magnetic shower seal for a glass shower enclosure

Vertical magnetic seal for glass shower enclosures and glass doors

Magnetic sealing strips for glass showers combine functionality with aesthetics. The vertical seals are magnetic and reliably ensure that, when the door or doors are closed whilst showering, no water escapes along the entire edge of the glass. Magnetic seals blend seamlessly into the shower’s design. The sealing strips come in a set of two and are magnetic.

Magnetic sealing strips are installed vertically along the glass door on the opening side or, in the case of two doors, between the edges of the door panels. They can be replaced without tools or specialist knowledge. You can find out how to replace a seal, measure a shower seal without measuring tools, measure and trim a seal, as well as a video and instructions in PDF format, at duschdichtungsprofile.de under Expert Advice.

Magnetic sealing strips for glass showers in clear, chrome-effect and black

In our online shop, we stock magnetic shower seal profiles at a 180-degree angle, available in a straight, aligned configuration or in a staggered arrangement. Staggered shower profiles close the gap between two glass doors that open inwards. For corner showers, we offer magnetic sealing strips at a 90-degree angle.

Glass showers are timelessly beautiful, modern and can be integrated into various interior design styles. To perfect the look to suit your taste, you can choose from shower seals in transparent, chrome-effect or black. We only stock black seals for glass thicknesses of 6–8 mm. We also offer transparent and chrome-effect seal profiles for glass thicknesses of 4–5 mm and 6–8 mm. When ordering the seal profiles, please ensure you select the correct gap dimension based on our instructions, in addition to the glass thickness (4–5 mm or 6–8 mm). The shower seals available in our shop – premium profiles from REHAU – are suitable for all standard frameless all-glass showers with partition walls featuring glass thicknesses between 6–8 mm; this covers almost all shower systems commonly available on the market.

Sealing an accessible shower & walk-in glass shower

To protect the bathroom from splashing water, we recommend installing an acrylic half-round strip. The half-round profile can be fitted to the floor in all shower enclosures, glass showers, floor-level showers and accessible showers. This ensures that any standing water remains inside the shower. What is a magnetic shower seal used for in glass showers?

A magnetic shower seal ensures that the glass doors of a shower enclosure close securely and that splash water remains inside the shower as far as possible. The integrated magnetic strips attract each other when the doors are closed, holding the shower doors together. Magnetic seals offer a practical and visually unobtrusive solution, particularly for frameless, all-glass showers.

Which magnetic shower seal is suitable for my glass shower enclosure?

The correct magnetic shower seal depends on the thickness of the glass, the shape of the shower and the angle between the glass doors. For glass showers, for example, magnetic sealing strips are available for 90°, 135° and 180° angles. You should also check whether your shower doors open inwards, outwards or in both directions. Choosing the right type ensures a reliable seal.

Can I replace a magnetic shower seal myself?

Yes, magnetic shower seals can easily be replaced by yourself in many glass shower enclosures. First, remove the old seal profiles and clean the edges of the glass thoroughly. You can then cut the new magnetic strips to the required length and attach them to the glass doors. It is important to ensure that the magnetic poles are correctly aligned with one another.

Why doesn’t my shower door with a magnetic seal close properly any more?

If a shower door no longer closes properly, this may be due to worn, damaged or misaligned magnetic seals. Deposits or an ill-fitting seal strip can also interfere with the magnetic closure. You should therefore check the condition and position of the magnetic profiles. If the problem persists, it is advisable to replace the magnetic shower seal.

Are there magnetic shower seals available for different glass thicknesses and colours?

Yes, magnetic shower seals are available for various glass thicknesses, for example for 4–5 mm and 6–8 mm thick glass panels. Depending on the model, there are different finishes to choose from, such as clear, black or chrome. This allows you to select magnetic sealing strips that match your glass shower enclosure and the design of your bathroom.
