Sweep seal with side lip

Note: This sweep seal is straight and not suitable for round or quadrant showers!

As a horizontal shower seal, this lip seal was designed for shower doors with a glass thickness of 6-8 mm.

The glass insertion (the part that is pushed onto the pure glass) was manufactured from transparent-clear rigid PVC and the sealing lips from transparent-textured soft PVC component. The vertical shower lip (so-called sweep seal) has a dimension of 18 mm, so that with a 6 mm glass thickness a gap width of 20 mm and with an 8 mm glass thickness a 22 mm gap can be sealed.

The deflector has a 90° angle to the glass insertion with this seal and not 135° like our other sweep seals. As a result, this water deflector profile glides smoothly over splash guards attached to the floor or shower trays. The deflector with a dimension of 14 mm guides the splash water far into the shower area.

Due to its textured soft lip, the sweep seal exhibits improved sliding behaviour. The sealing profile ensures that the water does not escape to the outside. It blends inconspicuously into the appearance of your elegant all-glass shower.

When purchasing this product, please note that due to the special construction, there is a possibility that water may accumulate in the area where the two side sealing lips converge and form a small cavity, and this can then lead to mould formation. This is not a material defect, but simply due to the special design and can be avoided by sealing the small opening in the area of the side sealing lip with a drop of silicone. Mould formation in this area is not a reason for complaint.

Care tip: The shower seal should only be cleaned with chlorine-free, non-alkaline cleaning agents. Avoid using abrasive cleaners and solvents to maintain the longevity of the material and to preserve the transparent design and water repellency in the long term. Lukewarm water combined with soft microfibre cloths is ideal for this.
